"Coco"

Before

After

So, What do you do when you got a lot of spare time and 1000 pesos to blow? You make a guitar! Well, actually I was really looking for a particular guitar that did not have any locking nut since my guitar needs have changed since leaving Bulus embarking on my tenure with F.L.A. I needed something that was versatile (Tuning wise) and cheap at the same time. Luckily, I got this donor "Les paul" body from a friend of mine for cheap.I have to say, The electronics were fine it's just that the body was like something you'd throw in the trash. The case on this guitar is actually a guitar project gone bad! Well, a week later and I was able to revive it. I rewired it and made sure I got every little bit of red outta there! I chose the checkered Pink/blue design from staring at my YM font too long. I figured "hey, blue and pink go together why not make it that!". I named it "Coco" for... well that'll remain a secret for now.(Man, Luigi's gonna call me Psycho again!) I like the work I've done with the guitar and the paint's even wearing out the way I want to! Expect to see this guitar at gig soon!

Beer batter:

1 cup flour
1 Tsp. Salt
1/2 bottle of light beer

I swear! I really gotta cut back on the beer this coming week. Well, I've been in a slump since the week started and I've reverted back into drinking alot again. It didn't take me longer than yesterday to realize that I've been loading up on booze a little too much this week. So then I stopped but I was left with a whole lotta beer. This is when I decided to grab a pack of frozen hotdogs (There weren't any fish fillets in the freezer), slice up some onions and make myself a beer batter to fry it with. It's pretty simple actually, you just take the cup of flour and mix it with the teaspoon of salt and mix it before dumping in the half bottle of beer. Mix it until it's smooth and make sure there aren't any lumps of flour when you finish mixing the batter. when this step is finished you're ready to fry! Now, Before I fried the hotdogs and onion rings, I made sure that I dredged it with flour and dipped it in scrambled eggs before finally dipping it in the beer batter. That way, the beer batter would adhere to it. Fry it until it's crispy and enjoy it with whatever that's left of the bottle of beer you used!

Featured Video

This week's featured video is another song from Van halen from their 1995 album "Balance". The song featured is "Not enough". This topped the billboard mainstream rock chart at 27 and the billboard 100 chart at 97. It features Edward Van halen playing dual roles both at piano and guitar. I find it's lyrics are compelling and the instruments exceptional (Hey! is that my guitar he's using??); as always on a Van halen record. the lyrics go:

to love somebody naturally
to love somebody faithfully
to love somebody equally
is not enough
is not enough
is not enough
to love somebody secretly
and never touch

to love somebody honestly
and always trust
to love somebody tenderly
the tender touch
is not enough
is not enough
love hurts sometimes
it's not so easy to find, no
searchin' everywhere
you turn and swear
it's always been there
to love somebody foolishly
can happen once
to love somebody hopelessly
it hurts so much

to love somebody equally
is not enough
is not enough
is not enough
love takes a little time
it's not so easy to find, no
searchin' everywhere
you turn and swear
she's always been there
standin' there....oh
and if it don't come easily
one thing you must believe
you can always have trust in me
because my heart will always be
yours honestly
love hurts sometimes
it's not so easy to find, no
searchin' everywhere
then turn and swear
it's always been there
standin' there
love hurts sometimes
not yours, it's not mine, no
love's only to share
turn and swear
it's everywhere
standin' there
'cause it's always been there
